ART IN PUBLIC SPACE - ABOUT
I am an Oslo-based French and Trinidadian artist and scenographer interested in exploring the relationship between ecology, time, identity and kinship, and the narratives these create in relation to living beings (human and more-than-human).
My research-based practice is both narrative and participatory: I work with imagination, world-building and discussion through collective story-making & story-telling. I use this as my framework to explore imaginations of sustainable futures, together with other beings, with an emphasis on social and climate justice.
I am inspired by post-humanistic theories, decolonial æsthetics and eco-feminism among other things. This, together with my own artistic practice, creates a variety of project-based artworks that act as communication capsules for my research. These can take the form of storytelling performances, publications, films and installations.
Liselli is a French-Trinbagonian artist and scenographer based in Norway. Her practice is both narrative and participatory in nature. Collaborating with others and the discussions that ensue is important in her projects. She has previously worked as a scenographer for Film & Tv where collaboration, storytelling and world-building were major aspects of her practice there.
Her research-based practice creates a variety of artworks that speak to each other, and can take the form of storytelling performances, publications, films and installations.
She is interested in eco-feminism, decolonial æsthetics, ecology and anthropology, and draws inspiration from ecological artists (Thierry Boutonnier, Reiko Gotto), participatory projects such as the Future Library project in Oslo and the Forest Encounters European project, and ‘eco-critique’ literature (Le Guin, Mc Farlane, De Loughley, Neal Hurston).
